A friend of mine said, why not put him with Jason. He could get Lazarus Pitt spa treatment of bringing back to life. Go through the crazy with Jason’s help and they could be messed up together.
Or maybe before he died he got hit with that omega or whatever beam and sent back in time to play hooky with Jonah hex. Only cause this redesign felt really western to me and i would love to see Damian in a western with chapped lips
Design wise, Starting off i wanted to show some of the crazy with the broken hood helmet if they did go the Lazarus route.I wanted to mix that awesome skull logo with the mini young avengers wiccan mini cape. Also mixed in some grey ghost into it who honestly deserve his own robin variant and tada

She met the Grey Ghost halfway, before Damian could argue with her. Touching his shoulder, she turned him around and started walking him in the opposite direction.
“Clancy. Hi. I know that it’s Tuesday, which you’ve arbitrarily decided is our date night, though, as I’ve told you at least fifty times, it’s not. But anyway, I’m kind of busy? I mean, you see Bats standing over there, right?”
Clancy bristled. “I do. Who does he think he is, taking my spot by your side?”
“He thinks he’s the boss of everyone. And I asked him to fill that vacancy, because it’s not your spot to fill, Johnny C. He’s a bat, and I’m a bat, and that kind of makes us a thing.”
“I could be a bat!” Clancy said, fists clenching. He dug in his heels, whirling back toward Damian. “You don’t deserve her!”
“I don’t want her,” Damian deadpanned. “But she won’t go away.”Tah-daaaah! All done.
Yet more fanart for No Dawn, No Day. I’ve had this image sketched down since the very first time I read this scene, and finally decided to do something with it. Besides the supremely lazy background, I’m pretty satisfied with how it came out.
In Batman & Robin 18, while going through Damian’s things, Bruce finds this note.
The idea of Clark sending Damian a list of movies he might find inspiring just rips my heart out.The movies include titles about adolescent rebellion (On the Waterfront, Rebel Without a Cause), kids overcoming major odds to become successful and heroic (My Left Foot, The Miracle Worker), movies about justice, compassion, and heroism (To Kill a Mockingbird, China Syndrome, Gorillas in the Mist, Cool Hand Luke, Lawrence of Arabia). These are tough, challenging movies, not patronizing kiddie fare.There was pretty much no hint before that Clark had the kind of relationship with Damian that would prompt a note like this (they met once in canon that I know of)…I wish I knew the story behind this.(This was a beautiful issue by Tomasi and Gleason, by the way).
I choose to believe that Clark and Damian kept in correspondence (re: penpals). Damian needed more people to complain to when Bruce was being frustratingly Batman, I feel.
Sigh. Let me dream.

The crossover AU where Tom Raymond adopts all of the plucky teenagers and nothing hurts. Aka, everything I’ve not-so-secretly ever wanted. Why can’t I hold all of these dead and/or erased sidekicks?? See, it might seem like Tom would be the worst adult to watch over Damian, but he’s indestructible enough to survive a prolonged period of Wayne exposure. He might be one of the only people who would not only threaten to wash Damian’s sour mouth out with soap, he’d actually do it. What’s Damian going to do? Toro heals, flies, goes on fire, and if you think you can intimidate him, you haven’t heard enough of his war stories.
Give me all of the dead comic sidekicks. All of them.

So I just finished re-reading No Dawn No Day by Kitty aka quipquipquip (she made a book buy it now!) and it just destroys me inside every time. And this line is the final kick in the gut. So I made this and now I must read fluffy alt-ending (lets be serious that’s the canon ending) to cure me of the sads.
P.S. Listening to “Once there was a hushpuppy” does not help with the emotions. It’s got like happy bits but then it weirdly fits in for the sad parts as well.
Ahaha, dang, that line was a punchy one. I’m still laughing at the similar one that popped up in Batman Inc #5.
