Anonymous asked: First of all, a pox on you and your house, and your lawn! for getting me back into reading fanfic... I thought I was out YEARS ago when I managed to stop reading Ranma fics, but now I can't stop reading Batfam fics! Secondly, having read your headcanon for the Robins being active in the fandom, how do you think they'd react to NDND, or Shake your tailfeathers? Ooooh! I bet that would be an uncomfortable Fanfic Theater night, Dick and Steph read Shake Your Tailfeathers for the Robins!

If it makes you feel any better, I thought I was done writing fanfiction, too. I had a five year dry spell where I didn’t write anything, but in the last year I wrote a half million words of fic. What is it with these Bats, dang. I’m not going to complain too much, though, because writing makes me the happiest, and having the desire to churn out that much fic is a great feeling.

I think that NDND would be off-limits for all of the Robins, because they would all side-eye Damian and try hard not to imagine what he would be like as an adult. Steph would bemoan the life choices that could possibly lead her to hooking up with Sir Stabsalot, the Baby Assassin, and Tim would wonder if whoever is in charge of the universe actually hates him and wants him to suffer in every way. Damian would just be manic over it, because HE DESERVES BETTER THAN THAT COMMON WOMAN.

Shake Your Tailfeathers would be better and worse. Since the fic summary is just “Dick and Steph team up to take down an orally-obsessed serial killer with a taste for blond girls. Dickbats has avoided working with the new Batgirl, but this time he doesn’t have a choice”, they would assume that it is gen. Dick and Steph wouldn’t have read the fic beforehand (it’s more fun when it’s a surprise), but Tim would have totally read that (because let’s be real—-smut that involves both Dick and Steph would be something that Tim would have a vested interest in). But he wouldn’t want to admit to having read (and enjoyed) that fic, so he would just bunch himself into a corner of the couch and avoid making eye contact with anyone because he KNOWS HOW THIS STORY ENDS. And since Dick and Steph are Dick and Steph, they would definitely act out some of the first part of it—-what with the dancing and the grinding—-and Tim would do his damnedest to melt into the throw pillows and disappear. He’d pull one of the pillows into his lap—-to Alfred’s great dismay—-and just try to survive this Fanfic Theater.

It takes them until the point of Steph going “…I do WHAT in Dick’s bed???” to realize that this fic is not gen. From that night forward, Dick refuses to read any fics that say that they include adventures. Adventures are made of lies.
