Well, from the small glimpses that we’ve seen of this particular AU future, everything is kind of crappy and nobody gets to be happy. Damian’s at the core of all that, but he doesn’t seem to have a monopoly on the angst. One of the biggest reasons that so much has gone to hell—-in my opinion—-is that Batman is no longer working with anyone. Not the police, and definitely not the League. The League AND the GCPD need Batman, and without someone filling that role, mistakes are made. Dinah/Babs, Iris/Milagro and Tim/Kon still happen, and those are happy relationships. Tim dies in his late thirties, though, and that is why we have Sad Kon in Cape.
But it’s meant to be a grimdark future, so nobody really gets to be happy happy. They just celebrate the small victories and joys, carry the holes that losses have punched in them, and keep fighting the “good” fight.
